It didn’t take long for Johnny Morris’ new Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium to start turning heads, something that the spectacular new celebration of wildlife and fisheries conservation work has done since the first day that the doors were opened up.
So much so that the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium has recently been nominated as USA Today’s “Best New Attraction” for 2017.
The not-for-profit museum and 1.5-million-gallon Aquarium Adventure, built by Bass Pro Shops (BPS) founder and CEO Johnny Morris, displays some 35,000-live fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, in addition to immersive Wildlife Galleries that bring visitors face-to-face with the nation’s most impressive collection of record-setting big game animals.
The 350,000-square-foot experience in Springfield, Mo. celebrates people who hunt, fish, and act as stewards of the land and water that serves as wildlife and fisheries habitat across our great country.
Located next to Morris’ flagship Bass Pro Shops National Headquarters store, the entire complex is a centerpiece for “America’s Conservation Capital” in Missouri’s beautiful Ozark Mountains region.
Because of that, it isn’t much of a surprise that Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium was recently recognized as a “Best New Attraction” nominee as a part of USA Today’s “10 Best” series, something that celebrates elite destinations and experiences as identified by a panel of travel experts.
“Wonders of Wildlife pays tribute to their (hunters’ and anglers’) accomplishments while also serving as an inspiration to future generations to get outside and (get) involved in conservation,” said a Bass Pro Shops spokesperson.
“By voting for Wonders of Wildlife, you’re helping to ensure that even more Americans will learn about conservation by visiting this world-class destination.”
According to Bass Pro Shops, sportsmen can help spread the word in one of two ways.
First, they can do so by voting each day for Wonders of Wildlife at www.wondersofwildlife.org/vote. (Editor’s Note: Voters may vote once per day until voting ends at 11 a.m. CST on Jan. 1, 2018.)
And second, they can help spread the word on social media platforms, tagging social media posts with #WondersOfWildlife on Twitter (@WOWaquarium ); on Facebook (@Wonders of Wildlife ); and on Instagram (@wondersofwildlife ).
